I'm confused, Is this the same as Microsoft Co-Pilot?
I know, I know. The term Copilot is actually a term that is used in the US to describe AI Models in general. So when using the word Copilot, its not talking about a specific tool, just referencing that its a tool that uses AI. Not confusing at all.
They are two different products
Is everything I'm entering here secure?
Yes, Egnyte Copilot is a fully secure environment. It does not share data outside of Egnyte and only references data that you have access to.
Why can't it give me an answer from the internet or a web search?
Egnyte Copilot is designed to apply AI methods across private data only, without risk of that data being leaked. If you are looking for more general knowledge, tools like ChatGPT and Microsoft's Co-Pilot are still recommended
Can i ask it a question about my Project?
Yes, but you'll need to contact IT to have a Knowledgebase created on your particular project folder
Can anyone else see what i am entering?
In general no, other users of Egnyte cannot see what you have entered or your results. However bear in mind that activity in Egnyte is logged.
Why are the knowledgebases only on certain folders?
Egnyte currently has a 10,000 file limitation on it's knowledgebases so we need to selectively choose which folders we use. The reason for this is that AI tools can become confused once large amounts of data starts being presented to them, especially data that has no structure which may contradict results (for example documents with similar detail and no versioning). AI tools are still at their best when you provide them with clean, well structured files with good file names, descriptions and content.
