The instructions below detail how to install and configure the Microsoft Authenticator App for use with a Shadforth company email account
- Download the Authenticator app from the app store (on your phone)
- Once Downloaded, open the App
- Click ‘Accept’
- Click ‘Continue’
- Click ‘Skip’ at the top right
- Click ‘Add Account’
- Click Continue
- Select ‘Work or School Account’
- Select ‘Scan QR Code’. This will open your camera to scan. Leave this open and follow the next step (don't scan anything yet)
- In a web browser such as Chrome on your PC (or phone if you don't have a PC), log into https://myprofile.microsoft.com
- Sign in with your Email Address and Password
- Under the ‘Security Info’ tile click ‘Update Info’ or ‘Add Sign-In Method’
- The below prompt should appear (if it doesn't, you may have to click ‘Add Sign-In Method’, then choose ‘Authenticator App’ from the dropdown)
- Click Next
- You'll receive the a QR code window like the below - this is the QR code you can now scan using your phone
- Click Next
- Follow the remaining prompts to confirm setup. During the process you will be prompted to Approve and enter a code in the app which will appear on your screen. Once entered, your phone is now linked.
